Immortal, from the Norwegian town Bergen, have established themselves as one of the most important black metal bands in the world. Formed by Demonaz (guitars) and Abbath (bass/vocals) in 1990 the group has issued eight trailblazing full-length slabs in their 25 plus year career. Immortal followed up its 1993 epic Pure Holocaust with the take no prisoners 1995 release Battles In the North. Chock full of wicked arrangements and unmatched speed, the band's uncompromising third effort is an absolute beast anchored by the certifiable black metal classics "Circling Above in Time Before Time" and "Blashyrkh (Mighty Ravendark)."
