Debut EP from this Florida punk band that I believe contains members of Mauser. The label's description notes that this isn't pure d-beat, but rather it's influenced more by Varukers and Crude SS. Still, this is so noisy, raw and intense that it basically appeals to the same sensibility, only the drums are playing faster 1-2 beats rather than d-beats. The recording is super raw yet powerful a la the earlier Mauser stuff, and the whole thing is straight up ragin'. Mauser already proved that Florida can do the tight, Framtid-style d-beat thing, and Ectoplasm also proves that they can be loose and wild. Recommended. Vinyl Rites Records
